Tea Party

A few posts ago I mentioned that I had some things I had been working on.  I've had so many creative ideas and I've been dying to try them out.
This idea of a sun drenched tea party in this field has been swirling around in my brain for months. Every time I drive past this field new images come to mind.  Yesterday after I picked up my girls from school I changed their clothes in the car, took a quick trip to the thrift store and then let my girls imaginations and natural styles play out.
When I look at these pictures I feel so much love towards my little munchkins.

Samples of Locations Part 1

One of the biggest questions I get asked is about location.  There are limitless ideas I have on locations depending how simple or trendy you want your pictures.  These are two examples of places that I have taken family pictures.
One in Oaks, Pa last November:

And the other at Peace Valley Park near Chalfont, PA in May.

I'll update more this week along with some new places I really want to use!

Rain, rain, go away

With all of this rain lately, its put a damper on my picture taking sessions and increases the amount of time I spend indoors listening to music.  I know I haven't posted for a while, my own work,  I'm being inspired by other sources of art and I'm working on some great projects I can't wait to share with you.

In the mean time I've been having a love affair with music.  Christina Perri, whose video I shared a few posts back, just keeps amazing me with her dramatic lyrics and beautiful poetry and fantastic vocals with every song of hers that I listen to.  Her Jar of Hearts video makes me wish I had had my heart broken recently so I could sing in angst with her.  Watch the video, the dancing makes me want to give up photography and take dance lessons all day.  Add singing lessons to that too.  You think that I could suddenly develop these amazing talents at my age?  hmmm, maybe....just wondering....
And the part where she looks at the camera with so much pain and sings, "AND YOU BROKE ALL YOUR PROMISES!!!!"  I can imagine everything that has wronged her in her life being vindicated in that moment.

On top of it all, she does an incredible acoustic cover of Alanis Morissett's Hand in my Pocket and I didn't think that anyone in the world could cover Alanis decently.  Her pipes are off the charts.

On a more honest, simple, and beautiful note, this song has been on repeat in my car for the last three days: from the artist, A Fine Frenzy:

It explains the time period between getting over an old flame and allowing a new relationship to grow.  So pretty.

Love,

My other obsession

So, I am obsessed with photography, but I have another obsession that keeps me occupied on nights when I am awake and everyone else is asleep~ insomnia much?~  this obsession is watching tv.  I used to love dramas *I still love me some Grey's Anatomy* but ever since I got Netflix, and Hulu, and maybe a few other shady internet sites that you can watch tv shows on, I now strive to watch every comedy out there.

Here are links to two new Fall line ups that you can watch on Hulu.com for free!

This is New Girl with Zooey Deschanel ~ you know, the girl from 500 Days of Summer.   Her dry and goofy sense of humor makes me literally laugh out loud!

And Up All Night is a new show with the guy from Arrested Development. And Christina Applegate who's been in so many shows that I love, if you don't know who she is, I'll hurt you and then force you to go watch "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead", until you love her as much as I do.  j/k, kind of ;)

Anyway, they are new parents and are just barely cutting it with the new parenting skills.  Watch it, it'll crack you up and make you want to drink all at the same time.

Hope you get a good laugh out of it!

Wonderful songs Wednesday

I seriously fell in love with this song when I heard it. I actually stopped the car and scribbled down the lyrics on the back of a receipt so I could look it up when I got home. I hope you like it too!!!!

*oh yeah, to turn off the other music, just click on the pause button on the music player on the right side of the page.*

Fast

I'm not sure I'm ready for summer to be over! I love long, warm, sunny days, full of swimming and trips to the zoo. I feel like my summer went as fast as these years did on this video:

I think this video is awesome! Enjoy!
