Rain, rain, go away

With all of this rain lately, its put a damper on my picture taking sessions and increases the amount of time I spend indoors listening to music.  I know I haven't posted for a while, my own work,  I'm being inspired by other sources of art and I'm working on some great projects I can't wait to share with you.

In the mean time I've been having a love affair with music.  Christina Perri, whose video I shared a few posts back, just keeps amazing me with her dramatic lyrics and beautiful poetry and fantastic vocals with every song of hers that I listen to.  Her Jar of Hearts video makes me wish I had had my heart broken recently so I could sing in angst with her.  Watch the video, the dancing makes me want to give up photography and take dance lessons all day.  Add singing lessons to that too.  You think that I could suddenly develop these amazing talents at my age?  hmmm, maybe....just wondering....
And the part where she looks at the camera with so much pain and sings, "AND YOU BROKE ALL YOUR PROMISES!!!!"  I can imagine everything that has wronged her in her life being vindicated in that moment.

On top of it all, she does an incredible acoustic cover of Alanis Morissett's Hand in my Pocket and I didn't think that anyone in the world could cover Alanis decently.  Her pipes are off the charts.

On a more honest, simple, and beautiful note, this song has been on repeat in my car for the last three days: from the artist, A Fine Frenzy:

It explains the time period between getting over an old flame and allowing a new relationship to grow.  So pretty.

Love,
